Jeju Anseongri Hydrangea Road: A 200-meter flower path created by an elderly couple blooms in full in June
Rather than being developed as a tourist destination, this stone wall hydrangea path carefully tended by village grandparents colors the small village road in Daejeong-eup, Jeju with waves of blue.
Walking along the village road in Anseongri, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju, you'll encounter hydrangeas blooming as if cascading over ordinary rural stone walls. This path, where hydrangeas of various colors from blue to purple extend about 200 meters along both sides of Pyeonghwa-ro 69beon-gil, is more modest yet beautiful than any tourist destination.
June: When hydrangeas are at their most beautiful
Early summer in June is the season when hydrangeas bloom most splendidly. Every year around this time, lush hydrangeas bloom in full along every stone wall of Anseongri Hydrangea Road, transforming the entire village into a flower path. Generally, hydrangeas reach their peak from mid-June to early July, making now the best time to visit this place.

Thanks to Jeju's mild climate, the hydrangeas here tend to bloom earlier than on the mainland. In particular, due to Daejeong-eup's proximity to the sea, the appropriate humidity is known to help hydrangeas grow more luxuriantly.
A special landscape created by an elderly couple's devotion
The greatest charm of Anseongri Hydrangea Road is its natural, unartificial quality. This place wasn't developed as a tourist destination, but became famous for the magnificent spectacle created by hydrangeas planted along stone walls by an elderly couple living in the village. Perhaps because of this, you can purely appreciate the flowers without any commercial feeling.

Along about 200 meters of Pyeonghwa-ro 69beon-gil running north to south, hydrangeas of various colors bloom in rows. Hydrangea flowers ranging from blue to blue and red blend with Jeju's traditional stone walls to present a unique beauty.
You can see residents tending to hydrangeas throughout the village, and these everyday scenes are what make Anseongri Hydrangea Road special.
Directions and exploring

Anseongri Hydrangea Road is located around 150 Pyeonghwa-ro 69beon-gil, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju. If using a private car, you can easily find it by heading toward the coastal road from downtown Daejeong-eup.
The hydrangea road itself is only about 200 meters long, but taking your time to walk, take photos, and look around will easily take about 30 minutes. Since it's a village road, it's not very wide, so you need to be careful of vehicle traffic.
Nearby are representative tourist destinations of Daejeong-eup such as Suwolbong and Dangsanbong, which are good to visit together. In particular, the western sea sunset viewed from Suwolbong is recommended as a finishing course after touring the hydrangea road.

Tips good to know before visiting
Anseongri Hydrangea Road doesn't charge separate fees like admission or parking. However, since it's the living space of village residents, it's proper etiquette to look around quietly.
The best visiting times are morning or late afternoon. During midday, the flower colors may appear faded due to Jeju's characteristically strong sunlight, and it's also disadvantageous for photography. Especially after 4 PM, the western sunlight softly illuminates the hydrangeas, allowing you to capture even more beautiful scenes.
Weekends can be somewhat crowded, so if you want to look around peacefully, weekday visits are recommended. Since parking space on village roads is limited, it would be better to park your car in downtown Daejeong-eup and walk, or use empty spaces at the village entrance.
